Two people from Dearborn, MI, were injured in an accident that happened at 8 a.m. on Aug. 16 in Daviess County.
According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred as Ahmed Alsuraimi, 42, Dearborn, MI, was northbound on I-35. About five miles south of Pattonsburg, he lost control of his 2008 Freightliner and traveled off the west side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an emergency crossover and a traffic sign and came to rest on its wheels in the median, facing north.
The driver and a passenger, Abdulla Alsuraimi, 29, both received minor injuries and were transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Daviess County Ambulance. Ahmed Alsuraimi was wearing a seat belt; Abdulla Alsuraimi was not.
The freightliner had extensive damage. The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.J. Thompson, assisted by Sgt. M.A. Wilhoit, Sgt. A.A. Henry, and Pattonsburg Fire.
