James Lewis, bridge supervisor, updated the commission on ongoing work. His crew will be working in Jefferson township this week, weather permitting.

Discussion was held regarding the Union Township easement needed to relocate a portion of Saber Road. More signage and caution cones will be deployed. The issue was continued until next week.

Discussion of an ad for the upcoming 2020 census was postponed until late December or early January.

Discussion of flag issues and possible solutions was postponed until next week.

Discussion was held regarding the current “No Zoning” letter sent out to inquiries. The commission decided to keep the letter as it currently reads for the near future. Possible adjustments will be made at a later time.

Ronetta Burton, county clerk, advised the commission that letters have been sent to all of the surrounding schools to let them know funds are available for school supplies to any resident child who has a parent that is deceased.

At 9:30 a.m., the commission left to meet Jeff Conway, Marion Township resident, at his property to discuss road and brush issues. They returned at 11:30 a.m.

Blandt Shields of Roy Blunt’s office met with the commission to discuss options for repair to the river channel and to Saber Road in Union Township.  He will pass along the county’s concerns to the U.S. Corps of Engineers.

Ronetta Burton, county clerk, discussed progress on brush removal in the county. Second notice letters will be going out next week. Residents have 30 days from the receipt of the notice to complete the removal of all of their brush. A 30-day extension will automatically be issued if the landowner calls or writes to the commission. A second 30-day extension may be approved in some cases if formally requested from the commission.

Steve Lee, Jefferson Township resident, asked for a bid for the county to remove his brush. Bill Haggard, mower operator, will be contacted to secure the bid.

The commission spoke to Todd Miller, custodian, regarding cleaning issues.

The commission spoke to Mike Lee, Jefferson Township resident, regarding a road issue on 122nd Street. He also asked about an issue on 112th Street, also in Jefferson Township.

Barney Esbeck, B&S Equipment Sales, met with the commission to obtain a certification that Daviess County does not have any planning and zoning requirements pursuant to RSMo 64.510 – 64.690.

On Aug. 7, a name change was granted to Carla Marlay; her name was changed to Carla Suzanne Sneed.

A dissolution of marriage was granted to Jeffrey L. Read, Coffey, from Gay L. Read, Auburn, CA, on Aug. 9.

Pierce, Chicago, IL, illegal use of card scanner, C felony, and speeding, B misdemeanor; State vs. Harvey Eugene Arnold, Kearney, delivery of controlled substance, C felony, two counts possession of controlled substance, D felony, and misdemeanors of possession of marijuana, possession of item at correctional center which prisoner is prohibited from receiving, and drug paraphernalia;

State vs. Elizabeth Marie Wilkinson, Winston, two counts endangering welfare of child in ritual/ceremony second degree, E felonies, and misdemeanors of speeding and no valid license.

Civil cases filed: Jerry Renolds and Sara Reynolds, both of Lee’s Summit, Duffey Reynolds of Cameron, and Sanford Reynolds of Pattonsburg vs. Shannon McCray and Amy McCray, both of Pattonsburg, petition on boundary lines.

Associate Division

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $70.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L. Adkins presided over the following cases:
