This week’s PGA event, The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, NJ, kicks off the FedExCup Playoffs and will see the field trimmed to the top 70 after Sunday’s final round. Garnett moved up from 121st to 95th place in FedExCup standings with Sunday’s finish in Greensboro.
Garnett entered Sunday’s final round at the Wyndham in second place after a 66 on Saturday, but despite a solid even par round of 70, could not challenge for the lead. The Gallatin native shot par on his first 11 holes, bogied #12, made up for it with a birdie on #15, then parred his final three holes.

This week’s total purse at The Northern Trust jumps to $9.25 million for the field o f 125 professionals.
