The Goldberg Group was at the jail on July 25 to discuss a recent feasibility study done by Goldberg Group Architects. The feasibility study was to determine whether the jail should proceed with needed upgrades to the current facility or lay the groundwork for a new facility. Director Ed Howard and Assistant Director Tim Carder will be taking a tour of the Doniphan County Jail in the near future to review their facility design.
Tim Carder gave the financial report, which the board approved. Sales tax revenue for June 2019, $105,696.70; sales tax balance, $87,699.49; commissary grossed $10,577.55 in July 2019; CD account 247 balance $247,881.61; CD account 977 balance $103,528.47; operating account balance $74,805.59; payroll balance $1,340.99; accounts receivable $254,629.18; accounts payable $1,833.32.
Carder reported that three staff members are attending Crisis Intervention Training in Chillicothe, and another class is planned in the fall in St. Joseph.
Firearms recertification was scheduled for July 27.
Carder will be attending the Sheriffs Conference in August.
Director Howard stated that the jail hopes to have the auditor’s report by next board meeting.
