Dalton Youtsey resigned his position as a dispatcher with Daviess County Central 911, as he was enrolling in the Law Enforcement Academy. A few applications for the position were submitted and reviewed by the board during their meeting held May 30.
Samantha (Smith) Wood, who had previously been employed with the Central 911 and had left in good standing, was hired at $10.50 per hour, with retirement benefits at her six-month anniversary.
The generator and battery backup are both working as they should at the Daviess County courthouse. McBroom Services made the repairs to the battery backup. Earlier in the year, the generator was not working properly.
Small backup generators had been placed in the attic of the courthouse and outside the county commissioners’ window to be used in the event of a power failure. Access to the attic in the courthouse was discussed.
Cummins, the company that installed and maintains the generator, could try and repair the current generator or install a new generator system. It was agreed by the board to try to repair the current system.
No meetings were held in June or July due to lack of quorum.
The March treasurer’s report was accepted with bills of $12,842.33; revenue of $29,987.84; and a checkbook balance of $85,960.05.
The April treasurer’s report was accepted with bills of $14,341.44; revenue of $33,757.21; and a checkbook balance of $85,240.16.
The May treasurer’s report was accepted with bills of $12,760.87; revenue of $34,341.05; and a checkbook balance of $80,309.64.
The above are the unapproved minutes of the Daviess County Central 911 Board, which held its regular meeting on May 30. Present were Gene Walker, John Sullenger, Daniel Wilson, Joyce Eads and Ronetta Burton. Absent were Todd Watson and Kate Chrisman. Also present was Supervisor Dana Carder.
