The Winston R-6 School Board adopted the proposed 2019-2020 budget during their meeting June 17. The budget expects revenues of $2,527,281 and expenditures of $2,725,366 for a deficit budget of $198,085. The deficit budget is due to $200,000 of capital improvements anticipated during the 2019-2020 school year. The regular operating budget is projected to be a surplus of $1,915.

The following bids were accepted: propane from Ferrellgas; and milk from Hiland Dairy.
The tuition rate for non-resident students was set for next school year at the current rate of $5,000 per student per year.
The board approved the transfer of funds from Fund 1 (Incidental) to Fund 2 (Teachers) to zero out Fund 2 for the end of the 2018-2019 fiscal year; transportation transfer from Fund 1 (Incidental) to Fund 4 (Capital Projects) in the amount of $26,000; and from Fund 1 (Incidental) to Fund 4 (Capital Projects) in the amount of $162,326 to cover capital expenditures for the 2019-2020 school year.
The 2018-2019 budget was amended to match the actual revenues and expenditures for the 2018-2019 school year.
Aug. 15 will be the first day of school for school year 2019-20.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for July 15 at 7 p.m.
