A genealogy seminar will take place on June 27, from 5:55-8 p.m. at the Daviess County Library. Trained assistants help people find ancestors and their families. This month adds free training sessions that open new avenues for identifying ancestors and cousins, accelerates building your family tree, and facilitates enhancing and preserving your family history. A few training sessions are “Writing Your Life Story the Easy Way,” “Collaborating with Cousins,” “Discovering Family in the United States Censuses,” “Learning from Military Records,” and many more.
The Summer Reading Program continues with a Big Stuff Petting Zoo next Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Bring the kids and talk with firemen, linemen, and police officers while checking out their vehicles. SRP2Go continues to be a favorite for our outlying communities, especially in Pattonsburg, so check out the van when you see it in your town.
The library is closed in recognition of Independence Day on July 4.
Mark your calendars for Moonwalk Week beginning with a “Launch Party” on July 16 at 9:30 a.m.; “Touchdown Party” at 10:17 a.m. and Moonwalk Mania celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission at 4:17 p.m. on July 20.
