Meal prices were approved to remain at the same amount as last year during the North Daviess Board of Education meeting held June 17. The district will continue on the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a non-pricing meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas.

Superintendent Dan Street gave facility updates. Restoration, waterproofing and masonry repair has started on the school building. Paneling in the gym has been ripped out and will be replaced.

After returning from executive session, a teacher contract was offered to Jesse Crump for math.

Bids will be solicited for milk, diesel fuel, pest control, fire extinguisher inspection and waste removal.

The 2018-19 budget was amended and the 2019-20 budget was adopted. A transfer was approved to the Capital Projects fund of $75K, and the Teacher’s Fund was zeroed out.

Mr. Street was appointed to be the 403b compliance plan volume submitter (retirement).

Principal Kelly Hightree reported overall attendance total for the school year was 94.62%. An awards banquet was held the last day of school. An alumni banquet and FFA officer retreat were held. Pattonsburg summer softball/baseball leagues have been using North Daviess’ ball field this summer. FBLA and sophomore classes have held concession stands. FFA camp will be July 1-5 at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The board went into executive session to discuss employee matters.

The next board meeting was set for July 15 at 6 p.m.
