A woman driving a John Deer Gator received moderate injuries in an accident that happened on Highway H about three miles west of Gilman City at about 6:15 p.m. on June 22.
Connie Ward, 66, Gilman City, was westbound, turning left into a field on a 2018 John Deere Gator crossover utility vehicle. Mallory Miles, 30, also of Gilman City, was also westbound and attempted to pass in a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander.
Miles’ vehicle struck the Gator on the front driver’s side. The Uplander came to rest off the south side of the roadway, facing west. The Gator left the scene prior to the trooper’s arrival.
Ms. Ward was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital, Bethany, by private vehicle with moderate injuries. Neither driver was wearing a safety device.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. B.R. Hilliard.
