On June 25 at approximately 4:25 p.m., Gallatin Fire Protection District was dispatched to 502 W. Johnson Street in Gallatin for a house fire. Engine 101 responded with five personnel.
Firefighters arrived to find an abandoned house with heavy smoke showing on two sides. A 1¾-inch attack hose line was deployed for extinguishment on the backside. A water hydrant across the street was utilized for water supply.
Mutual aid was requested from KAW Fire District for additional personnel. Another 1¾-inch hose line was deployed to assist in extinguishment on the southeast sides. The fire was under control at approximately 5:09 p.m.
Crews remained on scene for overhaul until approximately 6:28 p.m.
The fire started from a small yard debris fire that spread to the house.
