There are 208 students enrolled in Gallatin Summer School this year. Summer School is every day from June 3 to June 28, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays are field trip days. All students who have remained in good standing during the week get to participate in a field trip. The students have gone swimming in Trenton and were planning to go to the Gallatin pool, but the weather was too cold and rainy that day. Simpson Park/bowling in Chillicothe is on June 21, and swimming in Chillicothe Bay is on June 28. Barron Gann is the Gallatin Summer School Principal.
The Gallatin City Pool is open 1-6 p.m. every day. Private lessons are from 6-6:45 Monday through Thursday. Attendance has been very much affected by rain and cool temperatures, according to Laurie Roll, manager. Two private evening swim parties had to be canceled and several private swimming lessons had to be called off because of storms.
Adult supervisors at the City Pool are Elizabeth Plotner, Jake Cook, and Laurie Walton-Roll, manager for the last 10 years.
