The assault occurred around 7:30 p.m. on June 8 near 320th Street and Major Avenue, Jamesport.
According to the probable cause statement prepared by Deputy Kyle Cornett,
Kettner was concealed in the rear portion of a vehicle and his presence was unknown to the victim. Monteer was the driver of the vehicle. Kettner choked the victim from the back of the vehicle to the point where the victim lost consciousness. Monteer repeatedly struck the victim in the head and face area.

The victim was later transported to the hospital and admitted for injuries sustained during the incident.
