Facility updates and technology purchases were discussed and approved during the meeting of the North Daviess R-3 School Board held May 20. The summer maintenance list includes work in the parking lot, along with the annual cleaning and varnishing of the floors. Work continues in the agriculture shop and the basement.
A contract was offered to Troy Kull for the social studies teaching position.
An essay from sophomore Faith Rainey was read, about the benefits of going to a four-day school week.
Principal Kelly Hightree reported overall attendance was at 62 students enrolled. School events included the Daviess County Nursing and Rehab Easter egg hunt; Science City; DARE graduation; Family Fun Night; honor roll pizza party; graduation; senior trip; the spring concert; FFA/FBLA banquet; awards banquet; and the alumni banquet.
The next board meeting was set for 6 p.m. on June 17.
The board went into executive session at 6:15 to discuss employee matters.
