Amanda Riley and Wayne Scott, both with the Jamesport Community Association (JCA), discussed plans for the annual car show slated for June 22 with the Jamesport Board of Aldermen during their meeting May 13.
JCA noted several activities are planned for the evening, including an ice cream social, concessions, vendors, softball game and bounce games for the youngsters.
The board also agreed to purchase $500 worth of fireworks to add to the annual fireworks show to be held July 5.
David Roll with Daviess County Emergency Management spoke with the group about purchasing a storm siren. The cost for siren, pole and installation would be $12,500. This new siren would have the capabilities to be remotely operated from Daviess County dispatch. A motion carried to purchase the siren.
An ordinance restricting parking in the park was approved. Four new parking signs will be purchased allowing the city authorization to have vehicles removed in restricted parking areas.
A salary ordinance was accepted.

Visitors representing the Jamesport Community Association were Wayne and Misty Scott, Mike Bohannon and Amanda and Molly Riley; other visitors were David Roll from the Daviess County Emergency Management Agency and city employees Ray Bontrager and Davey Davis from the Jamesport Fire & Rescue.
