Winston R-6 presented the 2019 FFA awards during a banquet held May 11. Awards recognized achievements of each class and inducted the 2019-2020 chapter officers. Class histories were presented along with the Greenhand Degree Ceremony, state proficiency awards, state FFA degrees, and recognition of honorary members.
Freshmen Awards
**Madisyn Beaty received her Greenhand Degree; she participated in the Dairy Foods Career Development Events.
**Amy Caldwell received her Greenhand Degree; she participated in Dairy Foods Career Development Events, was awarded a Silver Rating for Area II Creed Speaking, was a member of the Knowledge Team, has served as this past year’s Chapter Sentinel, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau. Amy was selected as the Star Greenhand.
**Jordyn Inman received her Greenhand Degree; she participated in Dairy Foods Career Development Events, was an Area II Voting Delegate, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau.
**Karley Roe received her Greenhand Degree; she participated in Dairy Foods Career Development Events, was a member of the Knowledge Team, served as the chapter reporter for this past year, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau.
**Tanleigh Sheetz received her Greenhand Degree; she participated in Dairy Foods Career Development Events, was a member of the Knowledge Team, was an Area II Voting Delegate, and is the Freshman Chapter Leadership recipient.
**Jacob Uthe received his Greenhand Degree; he participated in Dairy Foods Career Development Events, has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau, and is the Freshman Chapter Scholarship Recipient.
**Asher Vaughn received his Greenhand Degree; he participated in Dairy Foods Career Development Events, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau.
**Heaven Waln received her Greenhand Degree.
**Keith Webb received his Greenhand Degree.
Sophomore Awards
**Dalton Eaton received his Chapter Degree and Forest Management and Products Proficiency Award.
**Login Goll received his Chapter Degree; he participated in the Entomology Career Development Events, received the Food Service Proficiency Award, has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau, and is the Sophomore Chapter Leadership recipient.
**Reagan Harrison received her Chapter Degree; she participated in the Floriculture Career Development Event which placed 26th overall in the state, has served as the chapter’s Treasurer where her book competed at the area level and received a bronze rating, played her saxophone with the Winston Quartet that performed at the State Convention, received Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award, has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau, and is the Sophomore Chapter Scholarship recipient.
**Hannah Hullinger received her Chapter Degree; she participated in the Entomology Career Development Events, has served as the chapter’s Secretary, played her trumpet with the Winston Quartet that performed at the State Convention, received Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award, Small Animal Production and Care Proficiency Award, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau. Hannah was selected as the Star Chapter Farmer.
**Tyler Muessig received his Chapter Degree; he participated in the Entomology Career Development Events, received Diversified Agricultural Production Proficiency Award, the Diversified Livestock Production Proficiency, Forage Production Proficiency Award, the Goat Production Proficiency Award, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau. Tyler received the BTC Bank Scholarship.
**Kylie Roe received her Chapter Degree; she participated in the Entomology Career Development Events, received the Small Animal Production and Care Proficiency Award, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Junior Awards
**Holly Caldwell participated in the Floriculture Career Development Event at the state level, and is the chapter’s current Vice President. She received the Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award, Diversified Horticulture Proficiency Award, Food Science Proficiency Award, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau. Holly was selected as the Outstanding Junior.
**Thomas Kile participated in the Floriculture Career Development Event at the state level, played the snare drum in the Winston Quartet that performed at State Convention, received a Food Service Proficiency Award, obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau, and was the Junior Class Chapter Scholarship recipient.
**Kyler Trimble participated in both the Floriculture and the Food Science Career Development Events, received the Outdoor Recreation Proficiency Award, has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau, and was the Junior Class Chapter Leadership recipient.
**Sam Uthe participated in the Floriculture Career Development Event, received the Turf Grass Management Proficiency Award, Diversified Livestock Production Proficiency Award, and the Diversified Agriculture Proficiency Award, and has obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Senior Awards
**Connor Christensen received first place at the Area 2 level with his Beef Production-Placement Proficiency Application, and earned the honor of being recognized at the Missouri FFA State Convention. Connor also is receiving a chapter Agricultural Communications Proficiency Award. He competed in the fall Leadership Development Events with his Missouri Cattlemen’s Association speech where he received a silver rating. Connor also received an Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award relating to his Supervised Agricultural Experience Program where he owned his own business called “Welded Carpenter.” Through an extensive application process, Connor has received his State FFA degree.
**Shelby Mason was the retiring Winston FFA chapter president. She competed in the fall Leadership Development Events with her Missouri Pork Producers speech, where she received a silver rating. Shelby received a gold medal for her completed placement record book for recording her hours related to her Food Service Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. She was a member of the Winston FFA Talent Quartet, playing the tenor saxophone this year at state convention in Columbia. Shelby received proficiency awards in Food Service, Beef Production, Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication, Agricultural Communication Proficiency Award, and obtained the Missouri Agriculture Skills and Knowledge Certificate from the Missouri Farm Bureau and received her State FFA Degree.
**Tyler Turner received his Environmental Science and Natural Resources Proficiency Award and the Forest Management and Production Proficiency Award. After high school Tyler plans to enter the workforce.
Shelly Mason, and Wyatt & Tammy Christensen of Christensen Cattle Company were inducted as Honorary Members.
