Winston High School graduate (2019) Jacob Lewis has been awarded the first ever Doug Harper Memorial Scholarship, in memory of the long-time fan and announcer of high school and college athletics, who passed away last year. The $500 scholarship is awarded annually to graduating high school seniors, one boy and one girl, who participated in high school basketball and competed in the annual Holiday Hoops during their senior year.

Lewis plans to attend Missouri Western State University to obtain a biology degree toward his goal of becoming a doctor. The scholarship presentation was made by Doug’s son, Heath Harper.
