Ann Heldenbrand, Sheridan Township resident, met with the commission to check on the progression of a petition to close a portion of 175th Street in Sheridan Township. The petition to close, and the remonstrance to remain open, will be heard in this 2nd quarter session of the commission.

Chip Winger, Sheridan Township resident, presented to the commission a petition to open a portion of 215th Street, and a petition to close a portion of Unity Avenue, both in Sheridan Township. The issue was continued until 3rd quarter session of the commission.

The commission received a petition for vacation of a public road for one-half mile plus of Unity Avenue from 210th Street east to the McCrary Cemetery in Sheridan Township. The petition will be read in the 3rd and 4th quarter sessions of the county commission before it can be acted upon. The issue was continued.

The commission received a petition for establishment of a public road for one mile of 215th Street from Highway HH to Unity Avenue in Sheridan Township.  The petition will be read in the 3rd and 4th quarter sessions of the county commission before it can be acted upon. The issue was continued.

Discussion was held regarding security for the basement portion of the courthouse.  A new lock will be installed.

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission and reported that his crew will be working on Jump Road in Jamesport Township this week, weather permitting.

Jeff LeRoy, T3 Communications, updated the commission on Windstream High Speed Wireless deployment in Daviess County.

The commission had a discussion regarding the Missouri Department of Revenue’s request for geographical data from Daviess County. No action was taken.

Tammy Huffman, Gallatin North Missourian, met with the commission for clarification on the possible joint venture with Caldwell County. The commission referred her to the Caldwell County Commission.

David Cox will meet this week with Ray Wadley, SEMA, to finalize paperwork for 2015 disasters.

Discussion was held regarding bond requirements by statute for the sheriff’s department. David Cox made a motion to update the bonds for the sheriff’s office to $50,000, including a position bond for both deputy sheriff and administrative assistant. Wayne Uthe seconded; motion passed.

The commission received information from the WOIC Workforce Development office in Trenton regarding funding and procedures for the Workforce Development project. No action was taken.

Discussion was held regarding the custodian, ongoing issues, and choices for cleaning supplies. The issue was continued.

In the afternoon the commission oversaw the shredding of documents from the storage building, courthouse offices, and Daviess County Central Dispatch. Dalton Youtsey, sheriff’s office, maintained the chain of custody and supervised the shredding and burning of sensitive MULES documents from Central Dispatch.

May 8, 2019

The county commission met May 8 at Daviess County Nursing & Rehabilitation, 1337 West Grand Street, with all commissioners present.

Jennifer Ellis, Osby Corporation, met with the commission to discuss details of renewing their lease with Daviess County. Mrs. Ellis gave the commission an extensive tour of the facilities. She also discussed needed improvements, current occupancy levels, plans for the future, and details of the lease. Mrs. Ellis plans to meet with the commission at the courthouse on May 29 to finalize the lease agreement.

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $70.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L. Adkins presided over the following cases:
