Backed by seven first place individual and relay performances, Gallatin’s Middle School boys captured the team title last Thursday at the Tiger Relays held at Worth County High School.
Payton Feiden, Draven Wright, and Isaac Bird each came home with at least one gold medal, as did the 4×400 relay team of Feiden, Bird, Jarom Litchfield and John Kliewer, who set a new school and meet record of 4:02.83.
Feiden won the 100-meter dash in 12.25, the 200-meter dash in 25.76 and finished first in the long jump (17’2”). Wright took the 400-meter dash in 59.62 and placed third in the 200-meter dash (26.51). Bird won both middle distance races: the 800-meter run in a new school and meet record time of 2:19.04 and the 1600-meter run in 5:11.19, and placed second in the high jump (5’). Litchfield also took fourth in the 1600 (5:41.02).
Also scoring for the GMS boys were Lane Dowell, third in the pole vault (7’6”), and Gabe Parker, third in the discus throw (98’9”).
The GMS girls placed fifth as a team. AnnaBelle Ball placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:09.40). Alex Endicott took third in the 800-meter run (2:50.32). Elle Copple placed third in the 1600-meter run (6:37.06). Presley Wells placed second in the pole vault (7’6”).
The 4×400 relay team of Wells, Ball, Copple and Addie Riley finished second in 4:47.77. The 4×200 relay team of Wells, Betty Rogers, Endicott and Addyson Sipple finished sixth in 2:08.97.
Crabtree for Panthers
Pattonsburg’s Kelsey Crabtree picked up points in one event. She placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 19.47.
