The Mustangs led, 3-2, after a 3-run fifth inning but the home Wildkats tied the game with a run in the bottom of the frame before taking a 7-3 lead later in the sixth. Tri-County scored four times in the top of the seventh to knot the score before the Wildkats cashed in with one in their final at bat.

Nate Baker, Gage Wright, Morgan McBroom and Drayton Harris each had a hit for the Mustangs, who received runs from those four, plus Klayton Lynch and Brinley Vandiver (2).

King City also won the junior varsity game, 6-0.

The Mustangs barely battled once through the lineup during a 24-0 loss to Maysville last Thursday. The Wolverines battered Tri-County pitching for 19 runs in the second inning on their way to a 3-inning victory.

Wright produced the lone Mustang hit. Vandiver reached first base on a walk.

The Mustangs will take on Mercer/Princeton tomorrow (Thursday) in Jamesport.
