David Franklin Cox, 65, Hamilton, Mo., passed away on April 11, 2019, unexpectedly at his home.   In the past he lived in St. Joseph and Lake Viking, Gallatin, Mo.

David was born on July 10, 1953, in Chillicothe, Mo., to John “Jack” William and Christine (Carroll) Cox.  He was a 1971 graduate of Penney High School, Hamilton, and a 1975 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, earning a B.S. degree in Agri Business. While at NWMSU he played trumpet in the marching band.

Following graduation, he worked for Missouri Ruralist.  David worked for FHA in Daviess and Ray counties, and beginning in 1994 he was employed at American National Bank as Vice President of Agri Correspondent Business.  David worked for Farm Credit Services in St. Joseph, starting in 1999, as Vice President Branch Manager until his retirement 2 ½ years ago.  Recently David was conducting farm inspections and earned his realtors license.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Agri Business Committee, and was instrumental in promoting AFA through the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

On August 11, 1994, he married Karen Arnold in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  She survives of the home.

Additional survivors:  Brother-Dennis (Joyce) Cox, Hamilton; Son-Ryan Arnold, Hamilton; and beloved grandson, Alias Arnold.

Celebration of Life Service:  7 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the Hamilton Federated Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hamilton and Gallatin High School FFA Chapters.
