Everett Rex Vanderslice passed away April 5, 2019 at Columbia Hospital. He was the third son of Everett M. and Ruby E (Beeler) Vanderslice born in Atchison County March 29, 1933. His family moved to the farm near Winston in 1945. He completed grade school at Fairview country school, and graduated high school at Winston, class of 1950.

He is survived by his brother, Gary of Winston, and sister’s in laws, Mae, Janice and Felicia, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was presided in death by his parents, brothers, Olin, Bob, and Kenneth.

Rex served two years in the Army returning to the family farm and soon after moved to Colorado working in the building trade including the construction of the Air Force Academy.

He returned to Missouri in 1962 and farmed with his brothers and father. He resided at the farm with his parents caring for them until their passing and his retirement.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, gunsmithing, and was a favorite uncle to his several nieces and nephews as well as his family. Rex attended the Fairview Community Church and will be sadly missed by all .

A memorial service will be April 27th at Fairview Community Church at 10 a.m. and graveside burial at Cope Cemetery, Weatherby, immediately following service.
