James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, updated the commission on ongoing work. His crew will be continuing work on re-decking a bridge on Jordan Avenue in Marion Township.
Marijuana ordinance was discussed. No decisions were made. The issue was continued until next week.
The commissioners attended an Active Shooter Training which was conducted for all courthouse employees.
Jim Ruse and Wayne Uthe will attend the Green Hills TAC meeting March 28 in Trenton.
Dick Carpenter, Harrison Township trustee, met with the commissioners regarding an area needing to be cleaned out in Harrison Township.
Cheryl Alexander, Daviess County Health Department Manager, called to report that the health office will be using the courthouse sidewalk for health awareness day from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019. Permission was granted.
Robert Mazur, deputy, and Buddy Weller, court security, met with the commission regarding latches for doors and an application for the glass windows in the courthouse to make it harder to break. They also spoke about making the courthouse more secure.
The commissioners looked at roads, bridges and culverts in Harrison Township in the afternoon.

Associate Division
A bench trial was conducted March 29 for Cathy J. Hartman of Pattonsburg. Hartman was found guilty of misdemeanors DWI, resisting arrest, failure to signal, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and failure to register. She was found not guilty of two misdemeanor counts of endangering welfare of a child. The defendant tested positive for methamphetamine and was remanded to custody. A sentencing hearing was set for April 16. The case was heard by Judge Daren Adkins.
George Rainey was charged March 27 with damage to jail property, E felony.
Civil Court
Rent and Possession: Caleb Wayne, Amanda Wayne and Cheri Wayne vs. Malissa Parker Anthony Henry was tried by the court. Execution of judgment against Malissa Parker is stayed for so long as Parker pays $150 per month towards the judgment total of $1,975. Judgment was entered against Anthony Henry in the sum of $1,975.
Assessor’s Office
Representatives from the assessor’s office will be in the field at Lake Viking and in Benton and Jefferson Townships in the next couple of weeks, reviewing and picking up new construction.
