Johnnie and Sally Black of Gallatin are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Katy to Mark Gaines of Weston. Katy Black, a 2008 GHS graduate, has a Master of Science in Education through the University of Kansas School of Education and is currently a teacher at Smithville. Mark, an Air Guard pilot, proposed to Katy at sunrise, as he was piloting a Cessna 172 Skyhawk plane on Aug. 25, 2018, prior to the St. Joseph Air Show. Mark and Katy will be married in a small outdoor ceremony on Saturday, May 4 at the Belvoir Winery in Liberty. You can view their registry at www.theknot.com/us/markandkaty. They are requesting no gifts. Mark and Katy will be honeymooning in Paris, France, in June, with an extended layover in Iceland as they travel both to and from Paris.
