Gallatin varsity basketball teams came home from a long trip to Stanberry with a pair of losses in their final regular season action. The GHS Lady Bulldogs fell, 67-25, to the GRC West Division champion Lady Bulldogs while the GHS boys dropped a 58-49 decision in the nightcap.

An aggressive and efficient Stanberry squad jumped out to a 27-8 lead in the girls’ contest and cruised with a running clock. Gallatin struggled from the field, shooting 28% on only 10 field goal attempts and combining for just 4 offensive rebounds across 4 quarters.
Karley Salmon led the Lady Bulldogs with 8 points, followed by Claire Hemry 5, Kelsey Maxwell 4, Madalyn Shubert 4, Addison Burns 3 and Caragan Baker 1.
Gallatin’s boys lost touch in the final 10½ minutes after trailing by a single point, 30-29, following a Johnny Stout basket. Stanberry went on a 9-2 run to end the third quarter and led by as many as 14 points with 3:04 to play in the game.
Stout canned three treys and led Gallatin with 11 points. Tristen Gibson chipped in 10 points with a pair of 3-pointers. Riley Holmes and Dylan Burns each contributed 8 points. Landon Corwin scored 6 points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds. JJ Waters and Brinley Vandiver added 4 and 2 points, respectively for the Bulldogs.
