The Gallatin R-5 Board of Education offered positions for the 2019-2020 school year to Brent Burke for high school principal; Justin Collins for middle school principal; and Nicole Thogmartin for elementary school principal. The assistant track coach position was offered to Penny Gardner for the spring 2019 season.

In other business at the Feb. 13 meeting of the school board, Superintendent Dr. Bryan Copple discussed the walkway and the timing of its completion. An onsite review with the architect was held Feb. 13. Progress has been hindered due to winter weather.

MSBA Certificates were presented to the board for School Board Recognition Week.

The administrative staff presented their reports.

The last day of school will be on Friday, May 24.

Conrad & Higgins, LLC, was approved for a three-year contract for the school district’s annual audit.

A contract was approved for three years with Heartland Business for Information Technology Services.

The 2019-2020 School Calendar was presented with Aug. 21 as the start date and May 15 as the end date.

Dr. Copple discussed the results of the 2017-2018 Annual Performance Report with the results of 96.8%.

The board entered into closed session for discussing personnel.

The above are the unapproved minutes of the Feb. 13 meeting of the Gallatin R-5 School Board. Present were Tim Bradford, Pam Critten, Jeffrey Donovan, Bill Irby, Trent Dowell, Amy Heldenbrand. Brice Terry was absent. Dr. Copple, Principal Collins, Principal Burke, and Board Secretary Corwin were in attendance. Staff present were Joyce Cox, Shonna Morrison and Shannon McBroom. Guests in attendance were Martin Sweatman, Ethan Williams and Barry Bartlett.

The next board meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019.
