Winston’s boys defeated Mercer, 51-37, on Saturday to win the HDC Tournament title for yet another season. The Redbirds have now won 12 straight regular season titles and need just two more wins for their sixth straight HDC regular season crown.

Seniors Jacob Lewis and Cy Uthe combined for 43 points in Saturday’s victory and senior team members reached their 100th career win. Lewis hit 5 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 25 points. Uthe added 18.
Winston’s girls won their final two games of the tournament and captured the consolation title with a 53-40 win over Tri-County.
In other trophy games, Mercer overwhelmed East Harrison, 69-25, to take the girls’ championship. Grundy County’s girls defeated North Harrison, 47-33, for third place. North Harrison turned the tables on the Grundy County boys, capturing third place with a 46-45 win. East Harrison’s boys defeated Gilman City, 72-58, for consolation.
