During executive session of their Jan. 24 meeting, the Winston R-6 Board of Education offered principal contracts to both Chris Gagnon and Pam Madison for the 2019-2020 school year.
The 2018-2019 Annual Performance Report from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education was reviewed with the school board, showing that the Winston School District earned 97.4% of the points possible and will continue to receive full accreditation status from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The Winston School Board approved Superintendent Brian Robinson as the Parents As Teachers Administrator for the Winston R-6 School District.
Josh Junco was approved as the elementary basketball coach.

Board candidates filing for the April 2, 2019, election are Allen Rhoades and Christopher Lee; the number of positions is equal to the number of candidates that has filed.
Due to the government shutdown the EPA has not released who has been awarded the Transportation Grant to replace a school bus.
Current enrollment is 88. Current ADA is 95.8% with 73% of students qualifying for either the “A” or “B” honor roll for the second quarter.
Students selected for the December character trait of compassion were preschool Audrei Hardeman, kindergarten Jentry Lee, first grade Macy Florez, second grade Braydon Barlow, third grade Taiton Caldwell, fourth grade Roie Cameron, fifth grade Ella Filley, sixth grade Emily Blanton.
The DARE program, which began Jan. 25 and runs for 10 weeks, is treated as part of the fifth and sixth grade health curriculum.
Elementary Literacy Night is Tuesday, March 19 for grades preschool through fourth.
