In Daviess County Circuit Court, a declaratory judgment was entered Feb. 5 for Monroe Township and Jefferson Township of Daviess County. The two townships filed a petition against Ronetta Burton in her official capacity as election authority of Daviess County, to allow late notice of election. Judge Ryan Horsman ruled that Ms. Burton shall accept the notice of election and sample ballot of the townships as if they had been submitted within the time periods required by law. He further ruled that the two townships will bear the additional cost, if any, for printing or reprinting of ballots made necessary by this judgment, and all costs were also taxed to the two townships as petitioners.
