An 11-year-old boy received serious injuries in an accident that happened at 6:10 a.m. on Jan. 30 in Daviess County.
According to the Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as Larry Raymo, 77, Jamesport, was northbound on 320th Street, five miles south of Jamesport. He was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty and lost control on the ice-covered roadway, traveled off the west side, and struck a tree. The vehicle came to rest against the tree, facing west.
Mr. Raymo received minor injuries and was transported to Wright Memorial by Grundy County Ambulance.
A passenger in his vehicle, Ivan Miller, 11, Jamesport, was transported to Children’s Mercy by Life Flight Eagle. Ivan was wearing his seat belt; Mr. Raymo was not.
The Jeep Liberty had moderate damage. The accident was investigated by Trp. J.P. Lynch.
