A Jamesport man received minor injuries in an accident that happened at about 6 p.m on Jan. 17 in Winston.
According to the highway patrol, Rock Dirks, 59, Jamesport, and Joyce Hullinger, 57, Winston, were both eastbound on Highway 69. Ms. Hullinger slowed to make a left turn. Mr. Dirks’ vehicle, a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, struck her vehicle, a 1998 Cadillac passenger car, in the rear. Ms. Hullinger’s car then went off the south side of the roadway and came to rest facing east. Mr. Dirks’ pickup made a controlled stop and came to rest on the roadway, facing east.
Mr. Dirks did not seek immediate medical treatment, but was later taken by family to Cameron Memorial Hospital. He was wearing his seat belt.
The pickup had moderate damage and the car was totaled.
