Christopher G. Houston, 41, St. Joseph, was charged Jan. 14 with one felony count of domestic assault third degree and two counts of misdemeanor kidnapping third degree, in connection with an incident at Lake Viking that occurred at 5:04 a.m. on Jan. 13.

According to the probable cause statement, Houston was in a relationship with an unidentified person, who was injured during an argument with Houston. Houston scratched his victim on the wrist while taking the victim’s cell phone. He also tackled the victim at the front door of the residence to prevent escape.

On Jan. 18, Houston was also charged with tampering with a victim, D felony. Houston allegedly attempted to dissuade the victim from assisting in prosecution of the first case by calling and threatening that he would sue.

A warrant has been issued for Houston, with bond set at $15,000 on the first case and $35,000 on the second.
