The North Daviess School Board decided at their Dec. 17 meeting to do a “needs assessment” to determine if the school should seek additional storage space.

Superintendent Dan Street called for estimates on the tuck-pointing work needing to be done.
In other business, the $5 million Umbrella Insurance Policy was approved.
Senior trip preliminary plans were discussed, but the class will have better idea of what they want to do in January.
Principal Kelly Hightree reported overall attendance at 94.72% with the total student enrollment at 63 with three in preschool, 33 in elementary, and 27 in high school.
School events have included Elementary DEAR Day (Drop Everything And Read) at the Daviess County Library; winter music program; and FFA Christmas decorating party for the elementary.
A suicide prevention assembly was presented to grades 7-12, and the National Guard presented a situational awareness program.
Finals were Dec. 19 and 20, and winter break has begun. FFA had Secret Santa movie night, and the class of 2022 held a fundraiser movie night in the gym.
During citizen communications, board member Patty Baker mentioned procedures regarding the winter concert and also asked about community usage of the gym.
The board held an executive session.
The next board meeting was set for 6 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2019.
