Gallatin’s girls held East Buchanan to 22% shooting from the field and took a huge edge in rebounding on their way to a 34-29 victory last Saturday in Holiday Hoops action in Trenton.

Caragan Baker and Karley Salmon led GHS scorers with 8 points each. Claire Hemry, Addison Burns, Kelsey Maxwell and Madalyn Shubert each chipped in 4 points for the winners. Maxwell pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds, as well. Burn also came up big on the boards with 8 rebounds.

Gallatin led by as many as 10 points in the third quarter. East Buchanan cut the lead to 30-29 with 2:45 to play in the game but a bucket by Burns and free throws from Shubert and Hemry closed out scoring.

East Buchanan’s boys hit 8 of 13 three-point shots on their way to a 74-30 win in Saturday’s nightcap in the Holiday Hoops event held on the NCMC campus. The KCI Tournament champs built a commanding 33-13 lead at the break and padded their advantage with a 27-point third quarter.

Dylan Burns led Gallatin, now 4-4, with 11 points. Landon Corwin added 8 for the red and black Bulldogs.

Gallatin teams take on Lathrop on Friday in more Holiday Hoops action at 7:30 and 9 p.m.  The Lady Bulldogs take on Southwest Livingston at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs close out the boys’ Holiday Hoops competition next Monday at 4:30 p.m. against Hardin-Central.
