The Gallatin R-5 Board of Education agreed to add another year to Dr. Bryan Copple’s superintendent contract, extending it through June 30, 2022.

In other business at their meeting held Dec. 17, the school board accepted resignation letters for retirement from Lori McLaughlin, technology coordinator, on March 1, 2019, and from Joyce Cox, high school counselor, at the end of the 2018-19 school year.
Rick Kuhl, WSKF architect, discussed walkway construction and shared with the board the construction report and the oversight of the project. The project is still on schedule and should be completed by end of January 2019.
The 2017-18 school calendar was updated. Two snow days for the makeup days will be Jan. 21 and May 21.
December bills were paid.
Jacob Wilson was recognized for performing with the National Band along with Macie McNeely and Bethany Bailey who performed with the National Chorus at the National FFA Convention on Oct. 24-27, 2018.
Dr. Copple, Principals Burke, Collins and Thogmartin, and Activities Director Gann presented their reports.
The final 2017-18 audit report from Conrad & Higgins LLC was approved.
Ron Alden and Amy Holder presented their vocational and FFA report.
The board entered into closed session to discuss personnel.
Board members present were Tim Bradford, Jeffrey Donovan, Trent Dowell, Amy Heldenbrand, Pam Critten, Bill Irby and Brice Terry. Dr. Copple, Principal Burke, Collins, Thogmartin. Activities Director Gann and Board Secretary Corwin were in attendance. Staff present were Nicole Curtis, Jenni Adkison, Amy Holder, Ron Alden and Amanda Durbin. Guests were Rick Kuhl from WSKF Architects, Martin Sweatman, Macie McNeely, Wayne McNeely, Jacob Wilson, Abbie Wilson and Bethany Bailey.
