The following cases were heard by Judge Ryan Horsman on Dec. 12:

A jury trial was set for George D. Rainey of Pattonsburg on Feb. 22, 2019, on felony charges of domestic assault, forgery, and tampering with witness in felony prosecution, and misdemeanor domestic assault.

A jury trial was set for Amanda M. Rainey, Gallatin, on April 23-25, 2019, on charges of trafficking stolen identities, stealing, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, identity theft, and drug paraphernalia.

A jury trial was set for Vincent Sturgeon, Gallatin, on April 29-30, for three counts of kidnapping, domestic assault, and endangering welfare of a child.

Probation was continued for Shanda Bashor on a felony charge of theft, and she was ordered to serve 48 hours shock jail time.

Jacob A. Barnes pled guilty to tampering with motor vehicle and stealing, both D felonies, and was sentence to two years in the Department of Correction on each count, sentences to run consecutively.

Miguel Angel Torres received a change of venue to Livingston County, on charges of possession of weapon at correctional center, three counts, damage to jail property, and making false report.

In Jennifer N. Smith vs. Director of Revenue, Smith’s petition to reinstate driving privileges was granted.

Trevor James Petree pled guilty to damage to jail property, E felony, and a sentence assessment report was ordered. In a separate case, a felony charge of assault was amended to an A misdemeanor charge of fourth degree assault. Both cases were continued to February.

Jeffery R. Rylander pled guilt to DWI, E felony, and was sentenced to two years in the Department of Corrections. For misdemeanor careless and imprudent driving, he was sentenced to 30 days jail with credit for time served. He was fined $300 for no valid license.

Associate Circuit

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases. Judge Daren L. Adkins presided over the following cases:

Noah McCrary, Gilman City, misdemeanor domestic assault probation violation, probation extended one year; felony domestic assault, probation revoked, 120-day program.

Michael V. Atkins II, Gallatin, driving while revoked amended to no valid license, $150.

Chevy R. Calhoon, Winston, no valid license, $150.

Meridijana Klinac, Kansas City, no valid license (not reinstated) $300; speeding, $56.

Emily D. Khile, Marshalltown, IA, driving while intoxicated, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service, 10 days shock jail, board bill paid by defendant; careless and imprudent driving, $80.50; minor in possession of alcohol, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service; possession of marijuana, $300; possession of drug paraphernalia, $150.

Carlton S. Walters, Lenexa, KS, speeding, $80.50; possession of marijuana, $300; possession of drug paraphernalia, two days jail, board bill paid by defendant.

Amelia N. Rick, careless and imprudent driving, accident, amended to no accident, $200.

George J. Weldon, San Marcos, TX, speeding (106 in 70 zone), two days jail, $250.

Jack L. Harris, Overland Park, KS, harassment amended to misdemeanor harassment, 20 days jail, $25.

Jeanne M. Spelhaug, Bethany, fail to drive on right half of roadway, accident, $30.50.

Ryan J. Joy, Excelsior Springs, passing bad checks, $25.

Kimberly I. Stevens, Spickard, three counts of non-support, suspended imposition of sentence and two years probation on each count.

Civil Court

Suits on account: A consent judgment was entered for Midwestern Health Management and against Britany M. Barlow. Default judgments were entered for Midland Funding LLC and against Candy Simpson, and for Midwestern Health Management and against Dennis Millette, et al.

County Commission

There was no meeting of the Daviess County Commission last week, due to lack of a quorum.

Assessor’s Office

Representatives from the assessor’s office will be in the field reviewing and picking up new construction in Jamesport and Jackson townships.
