Special awards highlighted Monday night’s fall athletic banquet at Gallatin High School as athletes and boosters met to put a final wrap on fall sports seasons.

GHS Athletic Director Barron Gann served as master of ceremonies and first introduced varsity cheerleader coaches Jenni Adkison and Susan Allen, who thanked their charges for their hard work and spirit.

This year’s football cheerleaders included captains Addi Stanley and Addison Burns, Essie Williamson, Macie McNeely, Annie Nelson, Caragan Baker, Johnna Tadlock, Carli Beck, Alli Baker, Taylor Morrison, Krysten Collins and Olivia Woody.

Stanley and Burns were recognized as four-year cheer participants.

Coach Cindy Boles reviewed the Lady Bulldog golf season, which included a runnerup finish in the Grand River Conference Tournament and sixth place finish at district. This season’s golfers were Ally Johnson, Jacklyn Maize, Jessica Hart, Jennie Teel, Riley Dutro, Libby Endicott, Claire Hemry, Sarah Morrison, Jenna Rains, Johnna Tadlock and Cloey Watterbury. Coach Boles was assisted by Sydney Elbert.

Johnson and Maize were each four-year golf participants. Hemry was named most improved golfer. Johnson was named most valuable golfer.

Coach Courtney Ray gave highlights of the Lady Bulldog softball season. The varsity team finished 11-11and fourth in the GRC at 3-4. The varsity team batted .266 this season and the combined earned run average for the pitching staff was 3.02. The junior varsity team finished 2-7-1 with a .252 batting average.

Special softball awards were given to Karley Salmon, Offensive Player of the Year; Kelsey Maxwell, Defensive Player of the Year and Team Leader; Amelie Dutro, Rookie of the Year; and Madalyn Shubert, #1 Teammate.

Other members of the fall team were Addison Burns, Essie Williamson, Bethany Bailey, Zoe Bradford, Macie McNeely, Aubrey Burns, Carli Beck, Maddi Michael, Caragan Baker, McKinley Waters, Taylor Hoover, Libby Wilson, Veronica Campbell and Brianna Filley. Sarabeth Michael and Tristan Hamilton served as managers. Coach Ray was assisted by Crystal Pash.

Salmon (captain), Ad. Burns (captain), Williamson (captain), Bailey, Maxwell (captain) and Bradford were all four-year softball participants.

Junior varsity football coach Ryan Beenken reviewed the jayvee’s six win, one loss season in which the Bulldogs outscored opponents by over 100 points.

Head Coach Patrick Treece reviewed the 8-3 varsity season, which saw the Bulldogs finish in second place in the GRC with a lone loss to Milan. The Bulldogs owned the second best scoring offense and second best scoring defense in the league this season.

Special football awards fell to Rodell Sperry, Scout Team Player of the Year; Adam Perry, Most Improved; Adrian Hernandez, Special Teams Player of the Year; Tom Crouse and Ayden Wayne, Co-Defensive Players of the Year; Graydee Rains and Aidan Adkison, Co-Offensive Players of the Year; and Rains for the Bulldog Award. Rains was also recognized for his third Academic All-State Award.

Football team members included Adrian Hernandez, Adam Perry, Graydee Rains (captain), Mic Warner, Thomas King, Morgan McBroom, Ayden Wayne, Cody Arnold, Tom Crouse (captain), Ross Critten, JJ Waters, Landon Corwin, Aidan Adkison (captain), Haden Bradford, Drayton Harris (captain), Tristen Gibson, Burke Dalton, Jacob Maize, Jonathan Carder, Gage Wright, Gabe Allen, Allen Dutro, Brantley Burns, Rodell Sperry, Johnathan Baldwin, Jagger Gray, Carson Lang, Draygan Schweizer and Brinley Vandiver.

Gann ended the evening by announcing academic all-conference honorees.
