On Dec. 8, the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Cameron was full of Christmas cheer and plenty of law enforcement officers. It was that time of year for the annual Shop with a Law Enforcement Officer program.
Sixteen Daviess County children and 17 DeKalb County children went shopping for family and themselves with staff from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail, Missouri Highway Patrol – Troop H Officers, Driver Examination Officers, Communications Officers, Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officers, and the Cameron Police Department.
The First Cameron State Bank allowed the group to meet and use their community room. They even supplied coffee, doughnuts and muffins. This event could not have happened without generous local support which includes the following Daviess County businesses: Farmers Bank Of Northern Missouri, BTC Bank, Dungy’s Supermarket, American Family Insurance, Midwest Flooring, Bridgeman’s Towing, Farmhouse Collections, Landes Oil, Tri-County Weekly, Jamesport Country Store, Jamesport Sales and Surplus, and Rob’s Cycle.
The Cameron Wal-Mart made it a fun day and also supplied juice and cookies for the kids and officers.
