Alison West Calton, 72, Kidder, MO, formerly of Springfield, MO, passed away on December 9, 2018, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, MO.  She moved to Kidder in 2011.

Alison was born on July 1, 1946, in Athens, OH, to Woodrow F. and Maxine (Westfall) West.  She graduated from Central High School, Springfield, and then attended college in Springfield at SMS, now Missouri State University.  She worked as a paralegal for many law firms including Woolsey, Fisher, Whiteaker, and McDonald Law Firm in Springfield, where she retired in 2006.

She married her husband, Neal T. Calton in 1985 in Springfield.  He preceded her in death.  She was also preceded by her parents; two brothers, Eddie and Morgan West; son, Craig Thompson; and nephew, Trent West.

She was a master quilter and after retirement, she and her husband, Neal, traveled and enjoyed visiting Las Vegas.

Survivors:  Daughter-Amy (Kent) Miller, Kidder, MO, and their children-Kenna and Jacob Miller; Son-Stuart Thompson (Newakis Campbell), Ozark, MO, and son-Cody Campbell; Son-Philip Thompson, Kidder; Son-Jeremy Calton, Columbia, MO; Son-Josh (Shannon) Calton, Springfield, MO; and their son-Malcolm Calton; and Sister-Jennifer (Steve) Allen, Jefferson City, MO.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
