North Daviess is once again striving to enhance the education field for their students.  Teachers met last week with Elizabeth Plotner, interim library director for the Daviess County Library. Ms. Plotner explained many of the unique features that the library has to offer, such as NASA kits, solar binoculars, e-cards and literacy tubs. These programs can be brought into the classroom for the education of each student on an individual basis.

The goal is to utilize through technology the many free facets that the Daviess County Library offers the school.

Ms. Plotner also discussed the plans for a potential 2019 weekly “Pop Up Library” for the students as well as the patrons in North Daviess, Jameson and Coffey.

The 2019 Summer Reading Program organization is already underway. Students at North Daviess are scheduled for a Christmas field trip on Dec. 7 to the Daviess County Library. Students will get to read and explore the many opportunities that the library has to offer. Kelly Hightree, principal at North Daviess, has included this trip as part of the DEAR- (Drop Everything And Read) program that is being utilized as an additional educational experience monthly at North Daviess.
