North Daviess Superintendent Daniel Street gave a facility update to the board of education at their meeting on Nov. 19. He noted that the school will be getting gravel delivered for the bus parking lot. A leak on the roof from the overflowing downspouts was repaired; however, he still wants to look into estimates for tuck-pointing that area.
Annual Performance Report (APR) results will not be released until after January.
The audit completed by Clevenger and Associates, CPA, was approved by the board.
There were no snow removal bids to approve. The board carried a motion to pay the maintenance worker for the Village of Jameson to clear the parking lots as needed.
Filing dates for the April 2, 2019, election will be Dec. 11, 2018, through Jan. 15, 2019. Patty Baker and James Duly terms will expire in April 2019.
An agreement for the junior high girls softball coop with Pattonsburg was signed.
Bills were paid as presented.
The board agreed to pay Jason Lewis for substitute bus driving by a vote of 4 yes, 1 abstain.
Staff appreciation was discussed.
Principal Kelly Hightree reported attendance was at 95.04% for elementary, 95.24% for high school and 94.83% overall. Sixty-three students are enrolled: preschool – 3, elementary – 33 and high school – 27.
Past events include Elementary Trunk or Treat; Red Ribbon Week; FFA haunted hayride; National FFA Convention; Senior Carnival; Veterans Lunch; FBLA Father/daughter dance; Thanksgiving break.
Campus Cupboard made its first delivery Nov. 16. The school serviced nine-plus families with a total of 56 individuals.
Upcoming events: December DEAR Day will be Dec. 7 with a planned trip to the Daviess County Library. The Christmas music program will be Dec. 12. The end of second quarter is Dec. 21.
The board entered executive session for employee matters.
The next board meeting is at 6 p.m. on Dec. 17 in the conference room, Jameson.
