Tax statements for real estate and personal property have now been mailed to Daviess County property owners. Tax payments are due by Dec. 31 at the Daviess County Collector’s office.

Your valuations should not have changed unless new construction has been added to your assessment.
If your tax statement shows an increase, the reason is most likely to be increased levies throughout the county. Of the 61 taxing entities in the county, only six levies went down. Eighteen levies remained the same, and the remaining 37 entities have levy increases.
Every levy for a school located in Daviess County increased. Of 15 townships, levies in seven increased. Levies for all three special road districts increased.
Daviess County Road and Bridge fund levies for seven of the 15 townships increased. Levies for most towns in Daviess County also went up, as well as the levies for Daviess County, Daviess County Library, Daviess County Health Department, Senior Center, Ambulance and Disabilities Board.
