Northwest Missouri State University recently celebrated the long standing traditional Homecoming and one of the highlights of the week-long activities was the parade held on Oct. 13.
Aubrey Nelson, 2015 Gallatin High School graduate, was co-chairman for Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority’s parade float ‘18. Aubrey began the planning, design and construction ideas with her committee in March of this year. Aubrey’s 110 Tri-Sigma sorority members were required to individually contribute a minimum of 45 hours on the float construction. Sigma Sigma Sigma chose a pinball themed float to incorporate into the circus homecoming theme at NWMSU.
Aubrey’s Tri-Sigmas were announced on Oct. 15 to have won the float division. Aubrey is a senior political science major, who also serves as a student ambassador for Northwest. Aubrey is the daughter of Bill and Vera Nelson and the granddaughter of Jack Dowell, Sarah Dowell, and the late Judy Nelson, all of Gallatin.
