Gallatin’s junior varsity Bulldogs finished strong with a 20-14 victory over Putnam County on Monday. The JV Bulldogs ended their season 6-1 overall and 4-0 in full games. Gallatin’s only jayvee loss came to Princeton, 13-0, in one half of play.

The Midgets scored first but a Landon Corwin strip and score covering 90 yards pulled the Bulldogs to within 8-6 going into half time. Tristen Gibson scored a punt return touchdown for Gallatin to open the second half and Brinley Vandiver ran in for the two-point conversion
Putnam County tied the score on a long run in the third period. Facing fourth and goal from the 14 yard line, Vandiver connected with Corwin for the game-winning touchdown. Corwin and Jagger Gray paced the Bulldog defense. Gibson finished with a pair of interceptions.
For the season, Vandiver tossed 9 touchdown passes against only 2 interceptions. Gray led the team in rushing and JJ Waters led in receiving. Gray and sophomore Jacob Maize led the team in tackles.
