Jamesport City Council sold one property and decided to table sale of another during their meeting held Oct. 9. Brandon Noffsinger’s bid of $8,000 for the quonset hut building was accepted. The other bid was from Mark Baker for $6,001.
Bids for the old fire station building were from Owen Gingerich for $32,500 and Mark Baker for $21,500. The sale of the property was tabled by the board.
Bids will be taken on the 1995 Ford Ranger and the white fiberglass truck bed topper from the 2006 shortbed Silverado. Bids will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Nov. 13.
The board entered closed session. Upon returning to open session, city clerk Shelley Page was given a dollar an hour raise, and Brett Matthews was given a 50-cent an hour raise. Both raises were to begin immediately.
A motion carried to pay overtime in lieu of comp time beginning immediately. The motion also stipulated all current comp time must be used by the end of the year.
The above are the unapproved minutes of the Jamesport City Council held Oct. 9 at city hall. Members in attendance were Geoff Eads, Gary Alexander and Rob Murphy. Freda Garner was absent. Mayor Ray Bontrager presided. A visitor was employee Duane Swalley.
