Second-seed Braymer brought some hot bats to Monday night’s Class 1, District 13 softball championship held at Gallatin High School due to Pattonsburg’s wet field.

The Lady Bobcats scored 14 runs on 14 hits and six Lady Bulldog errors to advance to today’s (Wednesday) sectional through a 14-1 victory. Braymer travels to Maysville to face the Lady Wolverines for the second time this season. The Lady Wolverines won an earlier meeting, 11-2.
Braymer scored in every inning but the third and started the contest with back-to-back singles and runs scored by Taylor Francis and Jasmine Taylor, who combined for six hits and five runs batted in, including a pair of line drives, solo home runs by Taylor. The Lady Bobcat junior finished with nine total bases.
Gallatin put 10 runners on base through the first six innings but could not push a run across the plate. Aubrey Burns tripled to open the seventh inning for the Lady Bulldogs and scored on a single by Caragan Baker.
Maddi Michael had the only other hit for the Lady Bulldogs. Karley Salmon walked three times and Addison Burns reached base twice on free passes. Kelsey Maxwell hit the ball hard and reached twice for Gallatin.
Gallatin advanced to the championship game by beating host Pattonsburg, 10-3. Addison Burns and Essie Williamson drove in three and two runs, respectively, for the Lady Bulldogs, who took advantage of seven Lady Panther errors.
Pattonsburg plated three runs in the first inning on three singles and an error.
