David was born on July 26, 1928 in Jameson, MO to Ephriam and Margaret (Whitt) Linville.  He was united in marriage to Doris Jean Bell on July 31, 1952.  The couple made their home in Colorado and Wyoming before moving back to Missouri in 1964.

David was known for his story telling which made him an excellent tour guide.  He enjoyed his life in Colorado as a tour guide giving tours by wagon or sleigh.  David loved horses and attended horse sales.  He especially enjoyed going to auctions where he was known to bring more than necessary home.  David will be missed by many, especially his dog Soapy who held a special place in his heart.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Doris Jean Linville.

David is survived by his son, Doug Linville and his nephew, Gary Taylor.
