Karley Salmon pitched a four-hit shutout and Caragan Baker drove in three runs with four hits to lead Gallatin to a 9-0 softball victory over King City on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs picked up their tenth win of the season by pounding out 13 hits in the five-inning contest. Baker finished with a triple and three singles. Maddi Michael tripled, singled and drove in a pair of runs. Salmon singled twice with two rbi. Zoe Bradford also had a pair of singles for Gallatin.
Salmon struck out seven Lady Wildcats over five innings.
King City took the jayvee contest, 9-3. Leaders for Gallatin were Macie McNeely, with one hit and two runs batted in; Carli Beck, with one hit and rbi; and Taylor Hoover, with a run scored.
Loss to E Buchanan
East Buchanan grabbed an 8-0 lead in the first inning Monday afternoon and swept to a 14-2 victory in non-conference action in Gallatin.
Addison Burns drove in a run for Gallatin with a double. Salmon, Kelsey Maxwell and Madalyn Shubert each singled.
15-3 victory in crossover
The Lady Bulldogs scored in every inning but the fourth during last Thursday’s GRC East vs. West crossover game against North Andrew. Four runs in the top of the fifth inning ended the contest with a 15-3 GHS victory.
Gallatin’s 15 runs came on only three hits, but with 15 free passes to first base. Baker singled twice and Shubert singled for the Lady Bulldogs. RBI leaders were Baker and Shubert with three each. Baker allowed only one earned run on six hits to earn the win on the mound.
Top seed at district
Gallatin is the top seed in next week’s Class 1, District 13 Tournament held at Pattonsburg High School. The event also includes the host team, Braymer, Tri-County and Winston. Gallatin will play on Thursday at 5 p.m. against the winner of the 6 p.m. Wednesday #5 Winston vs. #4 Pattonsburg game. #2 Braymer and #3 Tri-County square off in the other semifinal game following Gallatin’s game. The tournament championship will be contested at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.
The D13 winner will travel to the site of the D14 winner. Teams in District 14 are DeKalb, King City, Maysville, North Andrew, South Holt and Stewartsville.
