Public Works Director Mark Morey provided crack seal machine bids for a 10 gallon patcher with heating element to the Gallatin Board of Aldermen during their meeting held Sept. 24. He was authorized to spend up to $7,500 on the equipment and materials.

Dump bed truck bids were provided to the board. The board decided to have Administrator Tony Stonecypher work a monthly lease payment around $800 into the 2019 budget.
Mr. Morey provided the board with a repair estimate on the sewer plant mixer drive for $8,565.25, which the board approved.
Utility Service conducted testing on well #1 last week. They were able to pump clean water at 350 gallons a minute and there was 20 feet of draw-down. Mr. Morey expected to receive the final report in a couple of weeks.
The final water plant inspection with the Department of Natural Resources was conducted last week. There were over 40 questions that Mr. Morey had to answer. There were only a few minor issues that need to be fixed and the contractor agreed to address the issues. Screens in the air handler system not being removable for routine maintenance was among issues discussed.
Police Chief Mark Richards submitted a report on activity for Sept. 24: one medical emergency; one arrest warrant; two fraud; two traffic accidents; one citizen dispute; one theft; two welfare checks; one theft, license plate; two property damage; one found property; two assaults; seven peace disturbances; one animal problem; one domestic disturbance; one information report; one alarm; one theft, automobile; two vandalisms; four dogs in the pound.
Everything went well for the Chautauqua weekend. The police department set out cones for the parade and no real issues were reported. They are gearing up for another parade this Friday for Homecoming.
City crews painted and swept the streets in preparation for the Chautauqua.
The July transaction report was approved.
Bills in the amount of $170,069.80 were approved for payment. The board reviewed the August 2018 Financial Review. The board reviewed Eichler’s bookkeeping review for July 2018.
Discussion was held on the People Service Operation and Maintenance Report for August 2018.
Three reports were reviewed by the board: Ross Construction Pay App #16 for $370,125.27; Engineer/Consultant’s Certification; and Public Drinking Water Construction Statement of Work Completed.
Alan Bradford was appointed to serve on the park board.
The board discussed requesting bids for the 2018 audit.
The next regular meeting was moved to Oct. 9.
