The Winston Village Board of Trustees discussed the options for installing shutoff valves for the sewer during their meeting held Sept. 4. The board decided to wait another week on the current contractor to install shutoffs; if none are installed, the clerk is to look into finding another contractor.
The income and expense report was approved.
The utilities clerk distributed a new list of delinquent customers. She stated new shutoffs should be installed the following week. The clerk reported two move-ins and one move-out.
Melvin McFee reported on sewer maintenance. There were no new problems and everything was working properly.
The village clerk distributed binder handouts to board members. The clerk discussed adopting a new ordinance with relation to Prop-D: Motor Fuel Tax. After review, the board decided not to take a stance on the issue.
A bill adopting the current certified village property tax rate and related matters was approved.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 1. The above are the unapproved minutes of the Village of Winston Trustees meeting held Sept. 4.
