3:27 pm – Jack Lee Harris, 55, Overland Park, KS, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ on felony charges of possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of weapon, DWI-persistent and driving while revoked; misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana 10 grams or less and unlawful possess of drug paraphernalia. According to the probable cause statement prepared by Sergeant Larry E. Adams Jr., Harris was arrested at B&S Auction on Highway 6 east of Gallatin after the sheriff’s office received information about a blue Ford Expedition that was being driven in a reckless manner. A computer check revealed that Harris’s Missouri driving status was revoked and his Kansas driving status was expired. He also had an active Clay County arrest warrant for failure to appear for a 2014 driving while intoxicated case. Sergeant Adams recovered a pair of brass knuckles from Harris’s shorts pocket and a small bag in his wallet containing powder that subsequently field tested positive for cocaine. Bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
6:57 pm – Chad Prentice, 47, Jameson, was taken into custody on a bond violation for a previous felony charge of burglary. Bond denied.

9 am – Court in session.
10:33 am – Apollo Leon Brown, 34, Cameron, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ on charges of trespassing, stealing and no valid driver’s license. According to the probable cause statement, Brown was arrested by Deputy Caleb Ireland during an investigative traffic stop after the deputy had observed Brown leaving a Winston residence. The owner of the residence informed the deputy that Brown’s vehicle was not supposed to be on the property. Brown had a suspended driver’s license and was on parole. Brown said he took two gallons of water from the outside hydrants of the residence. The two gallon containers of water were located in the vehicle. Bond was set at $2,000.

6:02 pm – Winston, horses out on I-35 between mile marker 62-64. The Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls reporting the horses on the road. Northbound I-35 was shut down for approximately 5-6 minutes, and it took about 30 minutes to round them up.
